Dave will take a slightly irreverent view on whether or not to lay blame upon communication problems at our own doorstep. He’ll share some of the best methods used by people he’s met to give them back a sense of little control over their personal Tsunamis.
He’ll go back and take a look at the way we once communicated. We talked more: both face-to-face and on the phone. Occasionally we sent letters or memos. Then came the email. Just a few at first, and only at our desks during the working day of course, but then the desktop got legs and went mobile. The always on, never off, expectations means some of us are a largely 24/7 digitally connected population. This trend is rising.
Dave, a former RAF fast-jet Navigator and Aviation Instructor has worked both in the UK and Middle East. He’s a Member of the Institute of Leadership and Management and qualified vocational skills assessor. He spends his free time mostly with his family always with his emails turned off.
