This presentation is an overview of the history of mediumship. It includes a discussion of mediumship developments in the 1800s, the variety of mental and physical manifestations, and focuses on the influence of mediumship. This includes the spread of Spiritualism, contributions towards the topic of study for psychical research, and the development of research methods and theoretical ideas, such as the concept of survival of death and of the subconscious mind.

In an effort to further the research of “afterlife science” and offer support to those who have lost loved ones, Bob co-founded Forever Family Foundation in 2004. This global not-for-profit organization works with scientists, researchers, medical doctors and mediums, who provide evidence that our minds can act independently of our brains and consciousness survives physical death. Bob is currently the vice-president of Forever Family Foundation, directs their medium evaluation certification process, hosts the Signs of Life radio show, and is the editor of Signs of Life magazine.
Carlos Alvarado, PhD at The AZIRE
Carlos S. Alvarado has a PhD in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Scientific Exploration, a member of the editorial board of the Journal of the Society for Psychical Research, and a past President of the Parapsychological Association. Alvarado’s work has centered on survey research (on out-of-body experiences and other psychic experiences) and studies about the history of psychical research. He is the recipient of the 2010 Parapsychological Association’s Outstanding Contribution Award and is currently a Research Fellow and Staff at the Parapsychology Foundation. Alvarado is one of the editors of Research in Parapsychology 1993 (Lanham, MD: Scarecrow Press, 1998) and has published over 300 papers in history, psychology, psychiatry, and parapsychology journals.
